This remedy may work for many model computers when the mouse pointer freezes upon system boot up. If you have a USB mouse attached to your computer and your mouse freezes when your windows desktop shows up try this:
1. Unplug your mouse from it's current USB port
2. Plug your mouse into another USB port on your computer
If the mouse moves again, the problem was in the original USB port.
